How long does it take to get certified ?

  • Typically the course takes 4 days, over a 2 weekend period. However, we are very flexible and can accommodate those with even the toughest of schedules.

How much does it cost to take scuba lessons ?

  • We offer an ALL-INCLUSIVE package deal of $650 + tax. However, we also offer group rate discounts starting with a minimum of 4 students. To qualify for this discount, all students must take the course on the same dates and times.

What does ALL-INCLUSIVE mean ?

  • It means no surprises. We openly disclose the minimum cost of the entire course, rather than quoting what appears to be an extremely low price, then surprising you with additional costs and fees once you have started, or about to start the course. Any additional costs incurred are due to customer selected upgrades only. We include the following:

  • 1. Tuition – Face-to-Face classroom instruction with a PADI certified dive professional. Our preferred method which provides maximum time with the instructor. (Not available with eLearning)

    2. Personal Scuba Starter Set: Mask, Snorkel, Fins and Neoprene Boots (All Scuba Quality)- Yours to Keep. No recycling of used equipment.

    3. Student Learning Kit: Book Pouch, Open Water Diver Manual, Dive Log Book and Recreational Dive Planner -Yours to Keep.

    4. All Rental Gear for Pool and Open Water Dives: BCD, Regulator, Octopus, Compass, Pressure Gauges or Dive Computer, Weight Belt, Weights, Tank, Air Fills and Wetsuit.

    5. PADI Open Water Certification Card. Lifetime certification identification card and all related processing.

What do I need to start my class ?

  • Students are required to have their own scuba quality mask, fins, snorkel, and boots. We provide this equipment as part of our ALL-INCLUSIVE package price whether instructor led classroom instruction or PADI eLearning is selected by the student. The remaining scuba equipment is already provided in your course within the rental gear portion.

Do I need to buy all of my scuba gear / scuba equipment right away ?

  • No, it is not required. Although it is not required, owning your own scuba equipment has many benefits. Owning your equipment means you become very familiar with all the functions, rather than trying to figure it out underwater at the most inopportune times. Aside from the safety aspect, you will always know the equipment's history (maintenance, repairs, care, etc. ). Remember, this equipment is your LIFE support underwater. Scuba equipment is an investment which becomes part of how you experience diving. It also helps keep you actively diving. If you made the investment, do not let it let it sit around unused. We are happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have when considering your purchases.

Is rental equipment available ?

  • Yes. Scuba rental equipment is available for local diving and events. Our equipment is properly maintained and tracked. You will not find any tattered, ripped or broken equipment which may prevent you from enjoying your dive. This is a good way to still enjoy diving, without investing in your scuba equipment until you are ready.

What are the requirements to take scuba lessons ?

  • Minimum Age: 10 years old
Students younger than 15 years, who successfully complete the course qualify for the PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification, which may be upgraded to PADI Open Water Diver certification upon reaching 15.

  • Physically Fit For Scuba: For safety, all students complete a brief scuba medical questionnaire that asks about medical conditions that could be a problem while diving. If none of these apply, you sign the form and you’re ready to start. If any of these do apply to you, as a safety precaution your physician must assess the condition as it relates to diving and sign a medical form that confirms you are fit to dive.

  • Download the PADI Medical Statement (PDF).

What is PADI eLearning ?

  • PADI eLearning is a convenient way to learn from the comfort of your own home. This is a learn-at-your-own-pace method for those with limited time who are unable to take a class at our dive shop. PADI's eLearning replaces instructor led onsite classes and all learning materials are available online for the period of 1 year from the start of the course. If a student opts for this method, they are still welcome to contact our shop where we will provide you assistance on anything which may not be very clear in the online course.

  • You can get started immediately with scuba knowledge development using the PADI eLearning system. PADI continually updates course content for online delivery, which means you should check back regularly to view newly released online programs.

  • An eLearner under the age of 13 requires parent or guardian permission to register online. Also, for the protection of the child’s privacy, we will only receive the parent or guardian’s email address and will communicate directly with the parent or guardian, unless given parental permission to communicate with the child.
